Mounting delays to 2022 World Cup qualifiers due to Covid-19 are becoming a problem and a shortening of the format is a possibility. Fifa’s Under-17 Women’s World Cup in India next year could be postponed for a second time as confederations struggle to complete their qualifiers amid the pandemic. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in November 2020 but was postponed to February and March 2021. These dates are also now in doubt.
