South Korean mixed martial arts promoter Road Fighting Championship has announced its first event in Indonesia.
The event is being sponsored by peer-to-peer investing company Blue Moon Fund, and will take place in early March in Jakarta. The date has not been announced but Korean website Sports Seoul reported that the event would be aired by Korean broadcaster SBS on March 22.
Road FC chief executive, Kim Dae-hwan, said the promoter was also working on a television programme in which Indonesian fighters audition for a place in the championship.
The event was originally planned for February, but was delayed due to issues including the coronavirus, the organisers said.
The event will be Road FC’s first in Southeast Asia. Its events are largely held in Korea, although it has previously run events in Tokyo, Beijing and Shanghai.
