Brazilian football club Red Bull Bragantino has added online gambling company NetBet to its sponsorship portfolio for the 2020 season.
The brand will fill the designation of sleeve sponsor across the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the Brazilian Cup and the Paulista Championship throughout the forthcoming campaign.
The deal extends the company’s sponsorship influence across Brazilian football. It is currently a sponsor of Vasco da Gama and also held contracts for the 2019 season with fellow Série A clubs Fortaleza and Centro Sportivo Alagoano.
The Fortaleza contract was the first sponsorship of a Brazilian football club by an online betting company, following changes in legislation in December 2018.
Red Bull Bragantino is owned by global energy drink brand Red Bull. It was formed as a new club in April 2019 when Clube Atlético Bragantino and Red Bull Brasil were merged. The 2020 season will be its first in the country’s top flight after it earned promotion last season.
The German company own several other sporting properties. This includes RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, Formula One team Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso.
Recently, Austrian light-alloy wheel brand AEZ was signed up to sponsor RB Leipzig.
