Scottish football club Rangers has made another addition to its kit sponsorship portfolio with the signing of global tyre producer Tomket Tires as sleeve sponsor.
The two-year deal, which sees the brand become the club’s first ever sleeve sponsor, will be in place from the start of the 2020-21 season.
In addition to the sleeve sponsorship rights, the Czech Republic-based brand will be afforded a presence at Rangers’ Ibrox stadium, including on LED signage and interview backdrops.
Initially, the brand will be present on the sleeve of Rangers shirt in domestic competitions only, however Uefa will allow sleeve sponsors in its Champions League and Europa League competitions from 2021-22 onwards.
For Rangers, Tomket’s arrival represents the fourth addition to its kit sponsorship portfolio prior to the start of the 2020-21 season.
In June 2020, the club signed a three-year back-of-shirt sponsorship agreement with The Energy Check, the UK-based energy price comparison service.
This was followed by the addition of Seko Logistics, taking the role of upper back-of-shirt sponsor for all first team kits.
It will also be the first season the club’s kit will be supplied by the UK-based sportswear brand Castore after it replaced Danish brand company Hummel in the position.
Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the club has moved to offer new assets to sponsors during the 2020-21 season, through the implementation of virtual matchday’ sponsorship packages.
