Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals has signed global event EXPO 2020 Dubai as its main sponsor for the 2020 season.
As part of the one-year deal, the event’s logo will be granted visibility on the front of the team’s shirt throughout the tournament.
It replaces Indian building materials firm JK Lakshmi Cement on the front of the kit. The brand had been the Royals title sponsor for the 2019 IPL, but now takes up the same designation at rival franchise Sunsrisers Hyderabad.
The EXPO 2020 Dubai is a six-month long global event and aims to celebrate culture, collaboration and innovation. It will take place between October 20, 2020 and April 10, 2021.
This year’s IPL begins on March 29 and concludes on May 24. The Rajasthan Royals squad includes England players Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer, as well as Australian Steve Smith.
It was recently revealed that league’s media broadcast rights in the UK will return to being sold on an exclusive basis. A deadline of January 24 has been set for the likes of BT and Sky to lodge their bids for a three-year deal by the league’s global rights-holder Star India.
