Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), the Qatari government-backed investment fund that owns French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has conducted due diligence and held initial talks about acquiring a stake in Brazilian team Santos.
According to Brazilian media group Globo, Santos is seeking external investment as it seeks to compete with wealthier rivals such as Flamengo of Rio de Janeiro and Palmeiras of Sao Paulo.
