Qatar Airways has agreed a deal to become the official airline partner of the Professional Squash Association’s (PSA) World Championship, which gets underway today (Friday) in Doha.

As part of the agreement, Qatar Airways cabin crew will present the trophy to the tournament winner. The airline will also have an on-site ticket booth, where fans can present any flight ticket queries.

The event is taking place at Doha’s Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex and will feature a prize fund of $335,000 (€304,000). The event concludes on November 15.

Qatar Airways holds sponsorship deals across a host of sports properties. Its most recent deal was signed with Belgian First Division A football club KAS Eupen, with other partners including AS Roma, Boca Juniors, Bayern Munich and the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol).

Qatar Airways is also a top-tier partner of Fifa, football’s global governing body. The deal will cover the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar.
