Premier League and EFL explore scrapping parachute payments

The Premier League and English Football League have reportedly held talks to discuss scrapping the parachute payments system and replacing it with a more equitable solution. 

The Guardian reports “secret talks” have taken place, with some Premier League clubs reportedly softening their stance on parachute payments and becoming more amenable to replacing the system, with a number of alternatives proposed.
