Posey joins San Francisco Giants ownership group

Former San Francisco Giants star catcher Buster Posey has joined the Major League Baseball team's ownership group, acquiring an undisclosed minority equity stake in the ballclub.

The three-time World Series champion and 2012 National League Most Valuable Player spent his entire 12-year career with the Giants until his retirement at the end of the 2021 season, and now stands as one of the most important and popular players in franchise history. Posey, 35, will also serve on the Giants' board of directors.
