Merritt Paulson has stepped down from his role as the chief executive of Major League Soccer's Portland Timbers and the National Women's Soccer League's Portland Thorns in the wake of the fallout of the ongoing NWSL sexual abuse scandal which continues to rock the league.
Paulson, who has been the owner-operator of the organization since 2007, has given no indication that he will sell the teams, however, despite mounting pressure to do so.
