The Federation of Gay Games (FGG) has awarded the 2018 Gay Games to Paris, which beat off bids from London and Limerick.
To be hosted from August 4-12, the 10th edition of the event expects more than 15,000 competitors to participate in 36 sports.
Paris deputy mayor Phillipe Ducloux said: “For the city of Paris, for Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoe, for all Parisians, it will be an honour to welcome the 10th Gay Games. All participants will be welcomed in the loveliest city to make the Gay Games an international event.”
The quadrennial Games will next take place in Cleveland-Akron from August 9-16, 2014.
