Papua New Guinea launches NRL expansion bid

Papua New Guinea has launched a bid to form a National Rugby League franchise.

The proposal, which is backed by Papua New Guinea prime minister James Marape, would see Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League operate a new franchise based in the Melanesian country.
