One Championship appoints key stakeholder as vice-chairman

The One Championship Asian mixed martial arts promotion has appointed Saurabh Mittal, founder and chairman of investment vehicle Mission Holdings, as its vice-chairman.

One said the Indian billionaire will be responsible for key strategic initiatives as it seeks to continue its development as the largest global sports media property in Asia.

The announcement comes after Mission Holdings, alongside venture capital firm Sequoia India, acquired significant shareholdings in the One Championship back in July.

Chatri Sityodtong, chairman and chief executive of One Championship, said: “Our mission is to unleash superheroes across Asia to ignite inspiration, hope, strength, and dreams across all segments of society. I am confident that Saurabh’s vast expertise and experience will contribute significantly to One Championship’s success.”

Mittal added: “In just a short span, One Championship has become the largest global sports media property in Asian history. I am proud to have seen the phenomenal growth from the very beginning. I am excited to help One Championship become Asia’s first multi-billion dollar global sports media property in the very near future.”
