OL Groupe posts €50.6m loss for first half of 2020-21 season

OL Groupe has released its financial results for the first half of the 2020-21 financial year, with the group that operates Ligue 1 football club Olympique Lyonnais posting a net loss of €50.6m ($60.9m) for the six months ending December 31.

OL Groupe cited the direct and indirect impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the results. The group pointed to the “unfortunate” decision by France’s Professional Football League (LFP) to end the 2019-20 season early when Lyon where in seventh place and outside of the European qualification places.
