The National Women's Soccer League is adding teams in California's San Francisco Bay Area and Boston, Massachusetts for record-setting fees of $50m (€45.99m), according to reports.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the Bay Area franchise, whose ownership group includes former United States women's national team stars Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner, Danielle Slaton, and Leslie Osborne, will join in 2024 along with the return of the Utah Royals, increasing the league from 12 to 14 teams.
