NRL Grand Final to remain in Sydney for now

The 2022 NRL Grand Final is to be held at Stadium Australia in Sydney after the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) and New South Wales (NSW) government agreed upon a short-term resolution to a dispute over infrastructure spending that saw the commission threaten to move the match to another state.

ARLC chair Peter V’landys said the commission has struck a one-year deal with the NSW government that includes additional investment in rugby league facilities. However, he said the parties are yet to agree upon a long-term hosting rights deal as the government has not committed to further infrastructure spending.
