News Corp Australia is reported to be close to launching a new online sports betting service after striking agreements with gambling entrepreneur Matthew Tripp and Las Vegas-based investment firm Tekkorp.
News Corp, which is owned by media magnate Rupert Murdoch and has a majority stake in Australian pay-television operator Foxtel, is reported to have held discussions with prospective partners for more than a year.
