Bernd Neuendorf has pledged to lead the German Football Federation (DFB) into a new era after being elected as its president.

The 60-year-old, put forward by German football’s amateur representatives, secured 193 of the 250 votes cast to become the DFB’s president, seeing off competition from Peter Peters, former managing director of 2. Bundesliga club Schalke 04 and who had received backing from the German Football League (DFL).
