Cycling’s Tour de France is set to be the latest sports property to receive the Netflix documentary series treatment after a deal was struck between the streaming platform, race organiser Amaury Sport Organisation and domestic broadcast rights-holder, France Télévisions.
The as-yet untitled series will focus on the 2022 edition of the ‘Grand Tour’ event, featuring eight episodes lasting 45 minutes apiece. It will be produced by Quadbox, a joint venture between QUAD and Box to Box Films, the entity behind Formula 1’s hugely successful Drive to Survive.
