NCAA updates NIL rules for member schools

The National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Division I board of directors voted unanimously to clarify how its schools can be involved in name, image, and likeness (NIL) activities of their enrolled student-athletes.

No new rules have been added under the new guidelines. Instead, they further clarify the type of support that falls outside of current bylaws. In May, the NCAA issued guidelines to limit the amount of contact of boosters and individuals with student-athletes.
