The Brazilian Basketball League (LNB), organiser of top-tier club competition the NBB, has agreed an extension to its partnership with US beer brand Budweiser and has signed up construction products manufacturer Plastubos as a new sponsor ahead of the 2019-20 season.
Budweiser has agreed a three-season extension to its official sponsor deal, taking the partnership through to the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
The brand first partnered with the NBB in February and its new contract will see it focus on enhancing the sports entertainment offering connected to the league.
It will be present across the NBB, Jogo das Estrelas and Copa Super 8 events. Budweiser will also back the Player of the Week, Player of the Month and Player of the Season awards, plus activate during the playoffs by awarding the trophy to the Player of the Match chosen by fans through a vote on social media.
Kouros Monadjemi, president of the LNB, said: “The partnership with Budweiser represents not only the presence of a world-famous brand in Brazilian basketball, but also their trust in NBB Caixa. A three-year contract allows us to create a plan for the experience of our fans and clubs with activations on and off the court.”
The 2019-20 NBB season commences on Saturday, with Plastubos signing on as an official sponsor for the 12th edition of the competition. The company, which specialises in manufacturing pipes and fittings, will activate around the defensive elements of games.
