Nascar CEO France takes leave of absence following arrest

Nascar president Brian France has taken an indefinite leave of absence from the North American stock car-racing series amid reports he was arrested on Sunday for driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

In a statement yesterday (Monday) evening, Nascar confirmed that Jim France, Brian’s uncle, will serve as interim chairman and chief executive, effective immediately.
