Mumbai has been awarded the first franchise that will compete in Baseball United, a new United States-based professional baseball league targeting the Middle East and Indian subcontinent.
The franchise has been pitched as the first professional baseball team in the history of both India and the broader Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and South Asian region.
