Mubadala Capital ‘selected’ as financial backer for Brazilian football’s Libra body

Libra, one of two collectives of Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and Série B teams seeking to drive plans for a new Brazilian football league system, has recommended Mubadala Capital as its preferred financial backer.

The asset management arm of Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Co. was chosen by the finance committee of the Libra project at a meeting yesterday (Monday), according to the Bloomberg news agency, citing a person familiar with the matter.
