MSG Networks has partnered with US-based gambling operator FanDuel in a deal which will give New York Knicks and New Jersey Devils broadcasts on the regional sports network’s channels a sports betting feel.
The partnership, which designates FanDuel as an official sports gaming partner for MSG Networks’ game broadcasts of the Knicks and Devils, includes a mix of in-game and halftime integrations, branded content and commercial spots, as well as features that will air during the teams’ pre- and post-game programs.
Devils telecasts will also showcase live updates and updated betting odds on the ticker during each intermission to keep fans up-to-date between periods. Sports betting is legal in New Jersey, but not yet in New York state.
MSG Networks also recently debuted Inside the Lines a new, five-minute show that will air before every Knicks pre-game show and provide viewers with a quick look at the National Basketball Association betting landscape. A one-minute, National Hockey League-focused show Line to Line will air leading into every Devils pre-game show, highlighting some of the available betting lines around the league and in the Devils game that night.
The partnership will also feature integration on MSG Networks’ social channels and MSG GO, its live streaming and video on demand platform.
MSG Networks, which is owned by Knicks’ parent operation Madison Square Garden Company, runs MSG Network and sister channel MSG Plus, as well as a series of local radio stations. It serves New York and parts of New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
