PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan has conceded that the embattled golf organization cannot compete with the Saudi-backed breakaway LIV Golf in a financial "arms race" to compensate the best players in the world.
In an impassioned media briefing ahead of the Travelers Championship in Connecticut, Monahan unveiled a series of changes to the PGA Tour schedule which are designed in large part to prevent its remaining stars from joining LIV Golf.
