MLB’s Royals make push for downtown stadium

In an open letter, Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals majority owner John Sherman further expressed the desire to move the franchise into a new downtown Kansas City, Missouri stadium.

In September 2021, the Royals first stated their interest in exploring a downtown venue. In his open letter, Sherman says that the Royals have several "leading locations under close consideration" in downtown Kansas City and near it, while the team released artist renderings of a future stadium.
