MLB signs up Perform as official data distributor

Digital sports media company Perform has agreed a deal with North America’s Major League Baseball to become an authorised data distributor to US sports betting operators.

Perform will supply the official MLB real-time betting data feed in the US, allowing regulated sports betting operators to create new engagement opportunities.

The feed will complement Perform-collected data from other major sports leagues around the world, including football’s English Premier League and Spanish LaLiga. Perform collects and distributes the data through its RunningBall fast data service.

Kenny Gersh, MLB’s executive vice-president of gaming and new ventures, said: “It’s an important development for us to partner with Perform as the second authorised MLB data distributor in the US for sports betting operators. Multiple distributors of our rich, reliable, low latency data will help drive competition and innovation in the sports betting landscape, providing MLB fans with the best gaming experiences possible.”

Earlier this year, MLB signed a multi-year deal with sports and betting-related services company Sportradar. The deal begins with the 2019 MLB season and covers media and gaming rights distribution at both international and domestic levels.
