MLB invests more than $5m in ‘Field of Dreams’ ballpark

Major League Baseball is making a deep financial commitment to ensure its upcoming Field of Dreams game is a success by investing more than $5m (€4.26m) in constructing a new temporary ballpark in Iowa, SportBusiness can disclose.

On August 12, the New York Yankees will take on the Chicago White Sox in the nationally-televised game – officially known as 'MLB at Field of Dreams presented by Geico' – in Dyersville, Iowa, adjacent to the property used in the iconic eponymous 1989 movie, starring Kevin Costner.
