The McLaren Racing Formula 1 team has signed a multi-year sponsorship with Belarussian tinplate manufacturer Miory Steel.

A producer of electrolytic tinning and cold-rolled sheet, Miory Steel aims to raise awareness of its brand on a global level through the sponsorship.

Miory Steel branding will now feature on the nose of the MCL35 and the sleeves of the McLaren pit crew, starting at his weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix.

Aliaksei Kavalionak, chairman of the board at Miory Steel, said the sponsorship was the first sponsorship between a sovereign Belarussian company and Formula 1 team. “We see the cooperation as long-term, innovative and mutually beneficial for all its participants,” he said

With the addition of Miory Steel, McLaren now has 41 sponsors, of which at least 16 have branding on the car.

At the recent British Grand Prix and 70th Anniversary Grand Prix at Silverstone these included Arrow, Automation Anywhere, Coca-Cola, CNBC, Estrella Galicia 0.0, FX Pro, Gulf Oil, Huski Chocolate, Kaust, Klipsch, Pirelli, Renault, Richard Mille, Splunk, Tumi and Velo.
