Major League Baseball’s Milwaukee Brewers have announced a partnership with growing North American fantasy sports and gaming platform Monkey Knife Fight.
Monkey Knife Fight has been designated the Brewers’ official and exclusive daily fantasy sports site and, as such, will gain significant branding assets online and throughout Miller Park, which will be rebranded American Family Field as of January 1, 2021.
In addition, Monkey Knife Fight has contributed $50,000 to the Brewers’ Miller Park employee relief fund, which which supports ballpark employees out of work due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The deal with the Brewers is a potential breakthrough moment for the San Jose, California-based Monkey Knife Fight, which is a new property in the crowded and competitive daily fantasy sports market and debuted in late 2018.
The company also partnered with the XFL’s Los Angeles Wildcats before the start-up football league suspended its business operations and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month.
On a league level, MLB has a long-running alignment with Boston-based fantasy sports and gaming operator DraftKings.
MLB’s season, like many other US sports properties, remains on hiatus due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
