Automotive brand MG Motor has agreed a deal to sponsor the upcoming Southeast Asian Games multi-sport event in the Philippines.
MG will serve as the official mobility partner of the Games, which run from November 30 to December 11. The deal also covers the Asean Para Games, which will take place in January.
As part of the agreement, 80 SEA Games-branded MG vehicles will be used to transport athletes and teams to and from events. Three special-edition vehicles celebrating the 30th edition of the event will also be on show across the Philippines during the Games.
Last month, Vietnamese battery brand Pinaco signed an agreement with the Games’ organising committee to take a platinum-level sponsorship for the event.
The 2017 SEA Games were held in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur. The Malaysian government set aside $132m (€119m) for the event and collected about $25m in sponsorship.
