Melbourne Stars extend Oppo deal

Big Bash franchise Melbourne Stars has renewed its agreement with global smart phone manufacturer Oppo.

The brand will remain an Official Co-Major Partner of the franchise’s men’s and women’s sides for the upcoming 2019-20 Big Bash season, having already filled the position during the previous edition of the competition.

Oppo has a strong presence in cricket, having been a Global Partner of the International Cricket Council since 2015, this deal included activation across the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Teira Humby, marketing and partnerships executive for Oppo Australia, said: ‘’There is a natural alignment between the Big Bash and innovative tech. Whether it’s looking at scores and stats, watching the game on your smartphone device or capturing priceless sporting moments, your phone is at the heart of it all.’’

Oppo is joined within the Stars’ sponsorship portfolio by telecommunications company and Principal Partner Optus, health promotion foundation VicHealth, Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation, Art Series Hotels, the City of Casey, Australian brewer Gage Roads Brewing Co. and sports equipment company Kookaburra.

The 2019 women’s Rebel Big Bash is already underway, having started on October 18. The 2019-20 men’s KFC Big Bash will begin on December 17.
