Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset will bid for a new live free-to-air rights package being offered as part of Lega Serie A’s domestic tender process, according to Marco Giordani, chief financial officer and executive director of parent company MFE-MediaForEurope.
The package was included as the Lega, organising body of the top division of Italian club football, last week saw its member clubs give their unanimous backing to the make-up of the domestic broadcast rights tender, with broadcasters able to submit offers across three, four or five seasons.
