The Lagardère Sports and Entertainment agency has confirmed the Matchpoint Agency will become the charity events and management division of its Lagardère Plus division.
Matchpoint staff will offer additional event and production capabilities alongside Rooftop2 Productions, the New York-based agency that was acquired by Lagardère Plus in 2016.
Matchpoint, which works with clients to achieve philanthropic goals, will also provide expertise to Lagardère Sports’ roster of more than 250 athletes who are looking to enhance their charitable activities.
The agency has been led since its inception in 2012 by founder Carla Rosenberg, who will now become senior vice-president of Lagardère Plus.
“As part of our focus to turn traditional sponsorships into highly effective marketing platforms, having these new capabilities will allow us to better serve current and future clients looking to align their partnership marketing efforts with social responsibility partnerships,” said Kern Egan, Lagardère Plus’ president, Americas.
Matchpoint has delivered a variety of high-profile events featuring the likes of NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki (pictured) in a range of sports, including basketball, tennis and American football.
