LiveScore extends Serie A streaming deal, adds more football rights

Global sports update and results provider LiveScore has renewed an agreement for streaming rights in the UK and Ireland to Italy’s Serie A, and further expanded its football offering with a host of other properties.

LiveScore will stream 306 matches from the Serie A during the 2020-21 season, with each fixture to be available for free in the UK and Ireland on its iOS and Android apps.

Subscription broadcaster Premier Sports will retain broadcasting rights to every Serie A game as part of its existing deal. LiveScore’s Serie A deal was negotiated by the Saran Media agency and agreed with Premier Sports.

LiveScore entered the UK streaming scene in June with coverage of Serie A and Portugal’s Primeira Liga. LiveScore streamed all remaining matches of the 2019-20 Serie A season, as well as a third of all remaining Primeira Liga fixtures.

LiveScore has now agreed a new deal for Primeira Liga coverage in 2020-21 and will stream 102 matches in total.

The service’s 2020-21 offering will be further boosted with action from the Dutch Eredivisie (142 matches), Chinese Super League (60 matches), Coupe de France (21 matches), Uefa Champions League and Europa League qualifiers (20 matches), Fifa World Cup qualifiers in the Concacaf region (70 matches), and South America’s Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana and Recopa (262 matches).

In addition to the live streaming options for our UK and Ireland audience, global LiveScore users can expect to enjoy a range of on-demand content from across the football world including through our partnership with LaLiga.”

LiveScore’s streaming service attracted more than half a million unique viewers in its first two months after launching in the UK and Ireland, with a peak audience of 125,000 reached during AC Milan’s 4-2 Serie A win over Juventus on July 7.

The service has a global audience of 56 million monthly active users, including 2 million in the UK and Ireland. Its streaming service is facilitated by the live video and OTT services provider StreamAMG.
