Liverpool FC Women to join club’s US summer tour

Liverpool FC has announced that its women’s team will join the club’s summer tour of the United States to help boost their international profile and prepare for the Women’s Super League season.

Vicky Jepson’s squad will travel to US alongside Jürgen Klopp’s men’s team and join them on every stop of the three-match tour, in Notre Dame, Boston and New York.

Liverpool FC Women will play in two exhibition matches – against Cleveland Ambassadors at Notre Dame University and New York Athletic at Boston University – and participate in community activities in New York. The Women’s team’s first US tour is being sponsored by the club’s family partner Joie Baby.

“Ensuring LFC Women could embark on their first ever tour of America is another sign of our commitment to the ‘two teams but one club’ ethos’,” said Liverpool FC chief executive Peter Moore in a statement.

The men’s team are playing three games in the States: against Borussia Dortmund on July 19 at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana; against Sevilla on July 21 at Fenway Park in Boston; and against Sporting Lisbon on July 24 at Yankee Stadium in New York. The games are being broadcast in the US on TNT and B/R Live.
