LIV Golf is planning to adopt a promotion and relegation system at the end of its second season in 2023, in an attempt to freshen up the player pool and ensure that there is a pathway for other players to join the 48-man field.

According to Sports Illustrated, the Saudi-backed breakaway series plans to relegate the bottom-four performing players at the end of its season second and bring in four players from a new qualifying tournament, known as the Promotions event, as well as the LIV International Series.
