Liberty Global launches bid to buy rest of Telenet for €929m

US-based media giant Liberty Global has signalled its intention to launch a cash offer to assume full control of Belgian telco Telenet.

In a statement, Telenet confirmed that it has been informed by Liberty Global of the latter’s intention to launch a “voluntary and conditional cash offer” for all of the Telenet shares that it does not already own or that are not held by the telecoms operator.
