German Handball Bundesliga club Rhein-Neckar Löwen has signed a 10-year marketing partnership with the IMG agency.
The deal, which will begin in the 2014-15 season, will see IMG gain an exclusive marketing mandate for the hospitality and advertising rights at all of the club's home games at its SAP Arena. Rhein-Neckar Löwen and IMG will also create a joint sales team to support the new partnership.
“For the SAP Arena, this conclusion on the one hand means long-term planning with our partner Rhein-Neckar Löwen and, on the other hand, interesting new marketing approaches and cooperation with IMG,” SAP Arena chief executive Daniel Hopp said.
Having finished joint top of the 2013-14 Handball Bundesliga alongside THW Kiel, a slightly inferior goal difference meant Rhein-Neckar Löwen missed out on the title.
