Italian Serie A club Lazio has signed up high-speed train network Frecciarossa as its new sleeve sponsor.
The deal begins immediately and will run until the end of the 2021-22 season.
The brand’s logo already appeared on Lazio players’ sleeves during the club’s match against Atalanta last night.
Previously, the designation of sleeve sponsor at the club was not held by any company.
Serie A first allowed its club’s to display sleeve sponsors at the start of the 2018-19 season and Lazio becomes the sixth club in the league to take advantage of this, following Atalanta, Bologna, Fiorentina, Spal and Torino.
Frecciarossa joins an array of kit sponsors at Lazio which is headlined by front-of-shirt sponsor, television network Sky Italia and kit supplier Macron.
The one-year agreement with Sky Italia is worth about €325,000 ($364,700) per season, but is due to expire at the end of June 2020 as detailed by SportBusiness Soccer.
In 2018, a Coppa Italia title sponsorship deal with Frecciarossa was scrapped when the government stepped in and overruled the deal in controversial circumstances. That deal would have run for three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21.
