Major League Soccer team LAFC has announced a multi-year deal with automobile manufacturer Ford, which has been designated its official domestic automobile partner.
Ford will have a presence at multiple matches at Banc of California Stadium, hosting eight pre-match activations and an entitlement night for the August 7 match against the New England Revolution. A Ford vehicle will also be located at the southwest corner of the stadium.
LAFC was recently valued at $700m after some of its owners partially bought out a minority stake held by Malaysian businessman Vincent Tan.
Meanwhile, Chicago Fire FC announced an affiliate partnership with USL League One team Forward Madison FC. Under the terms of the partnership, the Wisconsin-based team will have the opportunity to receive players on loan and host an exhibition game with the Fire.
Elsewhere, MLS and official gaming partner MGM Resorts International formally launched Predict 6, the league’s first weekly free-to-play prediction game on the MLS website and app.
Fans will be asked to predict a set of questions for each of six matches. If a fan correctly predicts all six match outcomes and correctly answers the six additional proposition questions, they can win a $50,000 grand prize. If there is no grand prize winner, the fan with the highest score each week will win $500 or other prizes provided by BetMGM.
“Major League Soccer is excited to elevate the digital fan experience with the new free-to-play ‘Predict 6’ game presented by BetMGM,” said Chris Schlosser, MLS senior vice president of media. “We are always looking for new experiences for our fans that bring them closer to the game. ‘Predict 6’ builds upon our existing fantasy offerings to give fans a free, quick and easy way to both compete and showcase their knowledge of the League and our clubs with friends.”
