LA Galaxy to build safe-standing supporters’ section in 2020

In an initiative designed to improve the atmosphere and fan experience, the LA Galaxy has announced it will create a safe-standing supporters’ section at the north end of the Dignity Health Sports Park ahead the 2020 Major League Soccer season.

The north end is usually occupied by LA Galaxy supporters’ groups Angel City Brigade and the Galaxians.

LA Galaxy president Chris Klein said in a statement: “Creating a safe-standing section in our stadium will have a tremendous effect on our players on the field and will continue to give us a home field advantage when playing in front of our supporters.”

Other MLS stadiums that have safe-standing sections include Exploria Stadium (Orlando City), Allianz Field (Minnesota United), Banc of California Stadium (LAFC), Avaya Stadium (San Jose Earthquakes), and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (Colorado Rapids).
