Digital memory brand Klevv has signed as the Official Gaming Memory Partner for global esports team, T1 Entertainment & Sports.
Under the deal, brokered by the Lagardère Sports agency, Klevv gets partner rights across all of T1’s competing categories, including League of Legends (LoL), Dota 2, PUBG, Fortnite, Hearthstone and Apex Legends until January 2021.
The Klevv logo will be prominently displayed on the T1 team’s jackets and jersey sleeves, as well as its website and social media channels.
Klevv’s DDR4 gaming memory, SSD, microSD cards and USB products will also be used by the team.
Jay Lee, head of marketing at Klevv, said: “T1 is amongst the best-performing teams across multiple platforms in esports and is poised to become one of the most valuable brands in esports.
“We’ve been supporting the team since 2015 and have seen a strong uptake in our brand amongst younger audiences due to the strength of our association.”
Adrian Staiti, managing director, Apac, at Lagardère Sports, said the agency has seen a “massive push” from brands looking to get involved in esports over the past 18 months.
“It’s natural for brands to want to work with the most valuable teams and brands, and T1 is undoubtedly in that category, combining high performance with a massive fan appeal. As an endemic brand, Klevv’s association with T1 will provide them with a massive opportunity to really engage with gamers,” he said.
T1 is one of the most decorated teams in esports. Its LoL Champions Korea (LCK) team, previously known as SK Telecom T1, has won three LoL World Championships (2013, 2015, 2016), as well as five other major titles.
Korean telco SK Telecom and US sports team owner Comcast Spectacor launched the T1 esports team joint venture earlier this year.
