Major League Rugby (MLR) commissioner George Killebrew has stepped down just one week into the new league season.

Killebrew had served as the league's commissioner since 2019. The 15-a-side league lost its Los Angeles, California and Austin, Texas based teams after financial woes with the clubs' owners, but recently announced it would be adding teams in Chicago for 2023 and Miami for 2024.
