Hong Kong’s sports commissioner has announced that Kai Tak Sports Park, the HK$30bn ($3.8bn/€3.6bn) sports district being built in Hong Kong, will not fully open until 2024 due to difficulties importing materials.

Yeung Tak-keung told local media the sports park will only be partially complete by next year, when it was originally planned to open, because of global shipping issues that have halted the construction of the venues.
