Juventus launches limited edition Chinese-themed jersey

Italian club Juventus and their kit sponsor Adidas have launched a limited “Shanghai edition” away jersey with Chinese elements.

Juventus stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Miralem Pjanić, Matthijs de Ligt, Adrien Rabiot and Ferderico Bernardeschi had their names written in Chinese characters, with a special artwork designed inside the jersey numbers representing the Chinese zodiac sign associated with each player’s birth year.

The traditional black logo and details on the Juventus jersey were also replaced by a bright red, which is perceived as a lucky colour in Chinese culture.

With only 500 pieces made available on the Juventus online store, all jerseys sold out within hours of release.
