JADCO replaces whistleblower executive director

The Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) has named Carey Anthony Brown executive director.

The appointment was made by JADCO chairman Herb Elliott on Friday, ahead of today’s World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) audit of the body, following claims of insufficient drug testing procedures made public by Brown’s predecessor Renee Anne Shirley in August.

Brown joins JADCO from the Ministry of Youth and Culture where he served as director of corporate planning and performance monitoring. He also served in the Ministry of Finance and Planning as a financial analyst responsible for database management and performance monitoring.

In addition to his public sector experience, Brown has worked as production manager of Federated Pharmaceutical and a healthcare team leader at Proctor and Gamble Interamericas.
