The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) is soliciting bids for its first ever merchandising partner.
A statement on the federation’s website indicates that the project involves the design and development of a global merchandising strategy for the organisation. This would include developing a procurement, inventory and distribution strategy, the operation of an online store and the development of an event merchandise platform.
The federation has ambitions to turn the e-commerce into the ‘premier global source’ for ‘all things table tennis’ and will offer opportunities for table tennis brands to incorporate their merchandise into the ITTF store.
It added that it wants to create a coordinated event merchandise programme to maximise event-related merchandise opportunities through e-commerce and on-site sales. The federation said it will integrate its merchandising efforts with its wider data strategy across multiple platforms to drive sales using targeted content. These platforms include ITTF’s official website (ITTF.com), livestreaming (itTV) and ticketing sites, as well as the ITTF’s various social media channels.
