ITTF hands Slovenia 2013 Cadet Challenge

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has awarded its 2013 World Cadet Challenge to Otocec, Slovenia.

The event – to be held on October 26 to November 3 – is a global under-15 competition that invites four boys and four girls for each continental team representing four different national associations. The competition was due to be held in Turkey, but the country later withdrew its hosting rights.

ITTF president Adham Sharara said: "I am very happy that the Slovenia Table Tennis Association will host the 2013 Cadet Challenge at such late notice after Turkey handed back the rights for the event.

"Slovenia has a lot of experience in staging table tennis events and, following the great editions held in Puerto Rico and then Guam that raised the level of this competition, I am sure Slovenia will rise to the occasion.”
